Pitino said Ware has been cleared to begin basketball workouts immediately, but while he may be physically ready to return to the court, Pitino cautioned he may still need to get past his injury mentally. As Pitino noted theres a mental barrier Ware may need to overcome, and thats something many elite athletes who suffer serious injuries need to address in order to complete their comeback. The question now is whether or not Ware will miss any games due to the injury.
Source: http://collegebasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/10/04/louisville-guard-kevin-ware-cleared-to-begin-basketball-workouts/

So why are people becoming so addicted to sweating profusely? "I think most people assume that when you sweat more, you're getting a better workout," says John Porcari, Ph.D., program director at the Clinical Exercise Physiology program at University of Wisconsin Lacrosse and executive director of the La Crosse Exercise and Health Program, who has conducted research on the safety of hot yoga. "Plus, people obviously sweat more with these heated workouts, so I think there's a relaxation factor there, too." 6 Yoga Moves For Athletes Perception vs. Reality You'll almost certainly feel like your workout is more effective when you're doing it in a hot roomresearch shows that your perceived level of exertion increases in the heat, says Porcari.
Source: http://abcnews.go.com/Health/Wellness/hot-workouts/story?id=20398962

A new Danish study has found that people who exercised for just 30 minutes a day lost a third more weight than those who worked out for an hour a day. The rationale? Scientists believe that the shorter workout stints left subjects with more energy and motivation to live healthier lifestyles, while those who hit the gym for an hour were more likely to feel burned out. RELATED: BOY, 2, UNDERGOES WEIGHT-LOSS SURGERY "The subjects in the test group that exercised the least talk about increased energy levels and a higher motivation for exercising and pursuing a healthy everyday life," said study author Dr. Astrid Jesperson of the University of Copenhagen. "They take the stairs, take the dog for an extra walk or cycle to work." In contrast, the subjects "who exercised for one hour a day, after training, felt exhausted, demotivated and less open to making a healthy change," she added.
Source: http://www.nydailynews.com/life-style/health/30-minute-workouts-better-hour-weight-loss-study-article-1.1462723

I'm addicted to Zumba. I admit this embarrassing fact to help build the case for workout trends that may be written off as fitness fads. I'm well aware that I look ridiculous trying to duplicate my Zumba instructor's fancy footwork and complicated cumbia steps. Still, I show up at every class because it's fun, and more importantly, it doesn't bore me. Bodybuilders Get Ready For Cac Championships

Romane Hall Romane Hole, 24, from Fishponds, won the UK Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation's Welsh championships on Sunday. He took part in the "men's physique" category, which included a "topless stage walk" and various poses. He had been preparing for the competition over the last 16 weeks after deciding he wanted to become a fitness model. Romane, who runs his own company called The Candy Shop, has been training twice a day at the Ministry of Fitness gym in Kingswood. He gets there at 5.30 every morning to complete an hour-and-half of cardio training, before returning in the evening to lift weights. A mother of two, who lost both her arms as a toddler, is now reaching for the top in women's bodybuilding. Mrs Barbie Thomas, 37, from Phoenix, in the US state of Arizona, has participated with ablebodied women in dance, football and swimming competitions, the Mail Online reported. Then she decided to take up bodybuilding. She told US news website Huffington Post: "I talked with an organiser who told me I'd never win. When someone says I can't do something, it lights a fire under me." Her greatest victory came in March last year, when she finished fifth out of six competitors. "That was the first time I finished ahead of another person," she was quoted as saying.
Source: http://www.asiaone.com/news/world/armless-mum-wants-bodybuilding-win

'Generation Iron': ‘Pumping Iron’ reboot aims to squash bodybuilding myths, features Arnold Schwarzenegger

The bodybuilding sport is very misunderstood and has so many stereotypes associated with it. I really wanted to focus on the lives of these athletes and explore what motivates and inspires them both in this unique world and in their everyday lives, Yudin told FOX411. Until now, the bodybuilders were always portrayed as one dimensional, unintelligent and uninteresting characters in the mass media which is far from the actual truth. In Generation Iron, we go beyond the surface and actually get to know the guys and their extremely unorthodox profession. The film busts some myths about the sport along the way like the notion that bodybuilders use steroids to get buff. Yudin acknowledged that while performance-enhancing substances are out there, not everyone is using them. And according to the reigning Mr. Olympia, and the documentarys star, Phil Heath, who is preparing to take home his third Olympia title in Vegas on September 28, absolutely nothing can replace good old-fashioned hard work.
Source: http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2013/09/09/generation-iron-pumping-iron-reboot-aims-to-squash-bodybuilding-myths-features/

Armless mum wants bodybuilding win

Ive put all my knowledge together and I look real good and I hope to do real well. Out of the 12 years hes been competing in the sport, Fowler has represented the Bahamas at least 6-7 times and he has placed a few times. This year, he hopes that he can finally get his breakthrough and emerge on stage in one of the top three positions. This one should be real competitive. I look alright, but when you get there, sometimes you dont know what to expect from the other competitors, he said. You think youre ready and then when you get there, its a different story. But Im prepared for everything. Jimmy Norious At age 38, Norious said he never envisioned himself as a bodybuilder, but rather a fitness enthusiast, having competed in his first Marathon Bahamas two years ago after running with the Road Masters Club.
Source: http://www.tribune242.com/news/2013/sep/13/bodybuilders-get-ready-for-cac-championships/

It's comprehensive cast of famous instructors like Gina Grant have been filmed in crisp HD instead of depicting dancers as uncharismatic polygonal models. Better yet, they each perform their specific dances in the context of both authentic music and high definition backgrounds specific to each region. Taking a page from classic rhythm games like 'Bust-A-Move' and 'Parappa The Rapper', the backgrounds change based on how you perform. In their studies, investigators from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign found that aeorobic capacity or level of fitness was particularly linked to improvements in learning a challenging task. The research is published in the open access journal PLOS ONE by Lauren Raine and colleagues from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. For the study,48 children aged nine to ten were asked to memorize names and locations on a fictitious map, either only by studying the information or being tested on the material as they studied.
